We didn't know what actually caused it until the DE though. This limit has existed since DOS2 Classic by the way. This is why modders with multiple mods have created core mods to host all their icons - Now instead of say, ~4 new atlases per mod, they can combine them all into one and help mitigate that limit.įinally, you can help mitigate it as a player by organizing your hotbar a bit - Things like putting all your items on a separate hotbar, or perhaps putting a mod's icons on a separate hotbar if you start hitting the limit. So we're up to 5 atlases now in one UI, and we haven't even started adding in mods! We're left with 2 mod icon atlases before we hit the limit, at which point, additional atlases will make icons start visually disappearing. Additionally, you have Spirit Vision on there, which adds another atlas (it's in a separate atlas called Icons_DOS2_Skills) and some arrows (another atlas for DOS1 items). That's 2 additional atlases now, for 3 total. Divinity: Original Sin 2 > General Discussions > Topic Details. Next, let's say you have a scroll and grenade on the same hotbar. Chaoslink: Ok, yes classes are just a preset, and you can change edit it fully at character creation so yes, classes means nothing real. To give you an example, say you have some vanilla DOS2 skills on hotbar 1. The UI limit is separate for the various parts of the UI, such as hotbars, the inventory, a trader's inventory, the two different windows inside the trade window (where your items go before you confirm buying or selling). Divinity: Original Sin 2 - Definitive Edition Character Creation The most difficult part of any RPG: styling your characters and party composition the way you like it. This is a workaround modders have started doing recently to help mitigate the icon limit, which is 7 icon texture atlases in one UI. Most likely you're missing that mod's core mod, which contains all their icons for all their mods. Me personally, my first save I would start as an origin character to avoid risking possibly not getting all the story if it isn't the starting character and then on the second play doa custom character and see if the origin story gets played out in full if it is not my starting character or not, but that's just a personal preference, which is better to start with is still not 100% clear so it's really up to you.Question mark icons means you're missing the icon texture atlas, which is the big image file with all that mod's icons. GUIDE UPDATED TO Patch v3.0.141.822 (Sept 14th release) Create a fully customizable party with this guide, it will give you full control over every character. As such wither it's better to start with an origin character and not risk missing backstory or starting with a custom character getting Red Prince right near the start and then doing his origin until you find more and possibly having one extra character to switch out between your party set up to have more uniquie skill sets to handle different situations. I'm going to play DOS 2 and I'm kinda stuck at choosing my character's class. there is no mod ive heard of so far but there is a way: Custom party creation. I see name change role change skills customize menu that only customzes stats and then Accept. While you can get origin characters in your part and play as them (as such you should be able to get their back stories) wither or not your starting character effects how much of the story you can get is still probably unknown since the game is not fully out yet so no one has been able to dig through all the code to see if the origin story locks up at a certain point if it wasn't your starting character or not. Ive read over and over that you can have your characters any gender you like but it starts you out as a man and woman in the character creation with no way to change gender that i can see. Basiclly the choice comes down to do you want your character to look the way you want it to look and have the name you want it to have or do you want to have more backstory and things dealing with that back story, the origin presets only lock you into a race, gender, name, and skin, stats and skills you can change and set up as much as you want to (apart from things like humans get x stat boost to y stat and dwarves get x stat boost to z stat).
